Meads Bay Pond

Meads Bay Pond is really a wetland in Anguilla, an english Overseas Territory within the Caribbean Ocean. It is among the territory’s Important Bird Areas (IBAs).
Water-feature is really a narrow, 21 ha brackish lagoon alongside Lengthy Bay Village, close to the south-western finish from the primary island. Its north-western shore is separated from Meads Bay with a thin strip of land, an old dune, that has a road and tourism developments. The substrate is marl around the northern side and limestone around the southern. Plant life round the pond consists mainly of stands of buttonwood mangroves, with a few longspine acacia and gray nicker in the western finish.
The IBA was recognized as such by BirdLife Worldwide since it supports a little breeding colony of least terns in addition to non-breeding royal terns.
