Stacey Knecht
Stacey Knecht (born 1957 in New You are able to City) is definitely an award-winning translator. She mainly translates literary works in the Czech and Nederlander (or Flemish) languages into British.
She won the James S. Holmes Translation Award (1993) on her translation of To the Congo by Lieve Joris, and also the inaugural Vondel Prize (1996) on her translation from the Great Longing by Marcel Moring. She seemed to be a jogger-up for that 2015 Best Converted Book Award on her translation of Harlequin’s Millions by Bohumil Hrabal.
Additionally to her translation work, Stacey continues to be an enthusiastic teacher of Nederlander like a second language, and remedial teacher, since 2010. She resides in The Hague, within the Netherlands.
