Melvin Seeman
Melvin Seeman (born Feb 5, 1918) is definitely an American social psychiatrist and emeritus professor of sociology in the College of California, La (UCLA). He is renowned for researching social isolation. Seeman switched 100 in Feb 2018.
Seeman was created in Baltimore, Maryland, and received his Ph.D. from Ohio Condition College in 1947. He subsequently trained at Ohio Condition for quite some time, and finally grew to become an affiliate professor there. Also, he offered because the director of Ohio State’s Operations Research Group from 1956 to 1958. In 1959, he became a member of the school at UCLA, where he chaired the sociology department from 1977 to 1980. He trained at UCLA for 29 years before he upon the market. He’s been the editor-in-chief of Sociometry, affiliate editor from the American Sociological Review, and also the president from the Off-shore Sociological Association.
In 1996, Seeman received the Cooley-Mead Award in the American Sociological Association’s Section on Social Psychology.
